Sudden change of thought!

I suddenly realize that I'm so busy and I lack so many things to be a food blogger so I opted to be a lifestyle blogger instead. :) This is self-declaration, I know! haha.. So from this post onward, I will try to give updates to my readers as soon as I can. Everything related to me. Me as a teacher, teenager (nah!), girlfriend, friend, food addict and a whole lot more!

light bulb over the head

I did not change the name though since CRAVINGS means a consuming desire or yearning, not only for food but for different aspects as well, right? Do I make sense here? ;)

Well, sometimes, a sudden change of thought is unpredictable right? We can't tell if it's for the better or for the worst. I know it's still up to me on what to write here or not. I will just continue expressing myself on my humble abode on the web. That's it!

'Till our next meeting! :)

Sumang Kamoteng Kahoy - a native kakanin

I love kakanin! I always eat different kinds of it. One of my favorites would be sumang kamoteng kahoy. While growing up as a child, me and my older sisters were trained by my grandma on how to get kamoteng kahoy from the roots itself. We had a small lot in the province (Leyte) and we grew cacao trees and other plants there. That's how life in the province - abundant of different food that you can just pick and eat!

Now, fast forward here in the province again (in Pampanga), we don't make our own sumang kamoteng kahoy, we buy them! But the good thing is, it's really affordable that almost everyone can buy them!

Sumang Kamoteng Kahoy!
Suman is a type of rice cake that originated from the Philippines. It came from the root crop - kamote which was steamed and cooked in coconut milk. It is wrapped in banana leaves afterwards.

my share of suman :)
We got this suman from the usual 'suking tagalako' during early morning or around siesta time. How cheap is this? You can buy it for only P4.00!!! How cool is that?! The good thing about it is that, it will give you full stomach after one to two pieces. But since I really have a huge appetite for different food, I can eat three to four of this. (Sssshhh! This is just a secret!) ;) *wink*

Yum yum!!!

REVIEW and VERDICT:
This is great to eat during morning as your breakfast or as a snack during afternoon. It is a major source of carbohydrates that's why usually it is the staple food of people who are diet conscious. One serving of this is enough to fill your hunger.

I would love to try more variety of suman or different types of food related to kamoteng kahoy. But I am sure of one thing, this is my favorite version of suman so far!

Share your suman experience! Thanks for reading. :-D

Ramyun Fever!!!

I am not a fan of spicy food but I can say that I was sooooo addicted to Ramyun! It all started when my sister became hooked on Kpop stuff and so it's mandatory for her to try Korean dishes as well. So one of them was RAMYUN!

I even became more addicted to it when I taught in a Korean Camp last August of 2011 and January of 2012. During lunch time, my students would gather in the dining hall and would start eating different kinds of Ramyun. Ramyun (in Korea) or what we call Ramen (in Japan) is just the same. And for us, it's an instant noodles! And I have discovered different kinds of Ramyun so far but it's kind of limited in the market. Like for one, Ramyuns are not usually sold in big supermarkets. I usually find them in 7-11 and Mini-Stop. However, I discovered that there is a mini-market somewhere in Angeles, Pampanga that sells Ramyuns. I haven't tasted it yet but I'll cook it soon so to discover if it will pass my qualifying taste.. hahaha! This is what I got!

RAMYUNS screaming!!!

4 variants of Paldo (seafood, kimchi, broad noodles and U-dong flavor)

      VARIANTS:
* Seafood Flavor
* Kimchi Flavor
* Broad Noodles
* U-dong Flavor

What I got from 7-11 particularly was from Nong Shim Ltd. There are different kinds of Ramyun from Nong Shim. There's the ever popular Shin Ramyun which is Hot and Spicy, and the regular ones like the Korean Clay Pot and Potato Pork.

Ramyun from Nong Shim Ltd.

PRICES:
Paldo Ramyun: P36.50 (all variants)
Shin Ramyun: P49.00
Korean Clay Pot Ramyun: P32.00
Potato Pork Ramyun: P32.00

Honestly I have problems with the prices because every 7-11 branch has a different one. There's a time when I just bought the latter for P19.00 and when I asked the cashier regarding the changes, she said that 'maybe' it's on sale! Okay then.

REVIEW:
Korean Clay Pot Ramyun - this is the first from all the ramyuns that I tried. It has a little ooomph spice at first but you will surely ask for a 2nd pack to cook when you're finished with this.

Potato Pork Ramyun - This really confuses me a little. It's in red packaging and so I thought that maybe this is spicier than the first one. And because they also belong in the same company, I thought that maybe I'm right. But I am so wrong!!! It's just the same taste with the first one but there were tiny bits of potatoes on it.

Shin Ramyun - Honestly, I can't remember eating this. hahaha. So I might as well add this to my review on the Paldo variants which I bought earlier. :-D

VERDICT:
I will still continue to discover and eat all kinds of Ramyun from packages to instant cup to bowls from the restos that I can find. I'm beginning to love it! ♥ By next week, I'll try to go somewhere in Angeles to try Mr. Ramyun (a Ramyun store) which I heard from a friend that it caters not only Ramyuns but different kinds of Korean food as well. Excited! ٩(-̮̮̃-̃)۶

Care to tell what Ramyuns have you tried so far?

Welcome to Unlimited Cravings!

I was so happy and proud to declare that I set-up a new blog all by myself. I've been researching here and there to achieve a not-so-ordinary look for this. Well, this is not ordinary for me already.. haha.. Thanks Google because you know that I'm not-so-techie when it comes to blogging but still you persistently helped me!  :)

This blog is really close to my heart ♥ (obviously!) since I began launching it today, February 14 2012. Apart from that, EATING is my favorite! I may not look like I'm eating much, (I weigh less than 50k!) but I really love to try different gastronomic adventure. Sometimes it's with my BF/F Jaycee, but most of the time, it's all by myself!

So here it is, I now pronounced WELCOME and have a safe tour in my humble tummy abode. This blog will be all about food, food, FOOD!!! As long as it's food related, I'll post it here. :)

Food is God's love made edible. So enjoy your food. Relish it. Savor the taste. Chew your food very well. It'll help your digestion. More importantly, it'll calm you. You'll appreciate your food more. You'll be more grateful to God to your food.
